Business Opportunities and the Business Plan

Business Opportunities
and the Business Plan

What is your competitive edge?

Want to work from home? Make money online?

Can entrepreneurship be taught?

So you are ready, maybe even anxious, to start your own business.

If you are like most of us, the desire to go into business is running ahead of the concept of the "business model." The business model is described in the business plan, a map taking the business from the idea stage to an operating, and hopefully profitable, enterprise.

The business plan addresses the challenge of finding our "niche," that business opportunity that is right for us, that is attractive to the marketplace, and on which "the numbers work," that is, a business that can be profitable enough to justify our time, energy, and the other costs associated with forming, building and managing a business.

We are going to try to help with the process. Our e-Book shows you how to "Release Your Inner Entrepreneur." Your inner entrepreneur represents that set of skills that helps you to generate business ideas, gather information to help you evaluate and compare them, settle on a particular product or products as having the greatest chance for success, and crafting a business to make the most of the opportunity. When we talk about a product, this includes services.

When we talk about success, we are not limiting ourselves to financial success; the rewards of owning a successful business can go well beyond money.

Our focus here is on Internet business opportunities. An article I saw recently in Entrepreneur magazine asked "Think it's too late to start an Internet-related business?" Author Laura Tiffany answered her own question "Not if you start smart."

The other main component in our "smart start" program is what we call the Internet Marketing e-course. This will take us through a series of steps that have been proven successful in building profitable online businesses.

To our right we have copied the Business Plan section from our Library site. You should still visit the site for its many other useful resources.

The sites listed here contain information, suggestions, templates, samples and advice for the business plan writer.

We will also recommend, here and in our other sites, products that have been especially helpful to us and those that represent superior value.
